Quinta Brunson Takes a Risk With Her Golden Globes Look
Quinta Brunson, known as Janine in Abbott Elementary, was awarded a Golden Globe on January the 10th. She initially gained popularity as an internet personality. She soon transferred her talents to the big screen as a creator and actor in the sitcom.
Her red carpet gown was a bold look from Christian Siriano that suited her perfectly.
The Dress
Quinta’s Golden Globes dress was undoubtedly loud and boisterous. While we can totally see the argument that it may have been a little too much, we thought it suited her beautifully.
The piece has a pink, ruffled bust that leads into a mermaid-style bodice. The dress remains tight-fitted until just above the knee, where a layer of black and pink tulle is almost reminiscent of a tutu. The dress then cascades into a pink bottom covered by a thin black layer of tulle.
Here is a quick overview of many of the looks from Town and Country Magazine.
The Accessories
Quinta and her team let the dress be the focal point of this look, using minimal jewelry to accentuate it. Her Neil Lane jewelry consisted of multiple chunky rings, a thick silver bracelet, and (our favorite) a pair of silver spiral earrings.
The earrings were a great choice, as they complimented the strapless, sweetheart neckline without taking away from it.
Quinta’s dress did not reveal her shoes past a few glimpses, but they were by Giuseppe Zanotti.
Our Thoughts
We enjoyed seeing Quinta slay the carpet dressed in her pink and black ensemble, but there were parts of the look that we didn’t feel was necessarily needed, especially the ruffle of black and pink tulle that was above the ‘mermaid tail’ of her dress.
We felt that it didn’t add anything to the look and managed to take away from the dramatic silhouette of the dress.
We love the bold direction Quinta, and her style team took when choosing her outfit for this year’s golden globes. At events like this, there is sometimes a degree of monotony in the looks, and Quinta’s bold look definitely stood out in the crowd. She did not look like anyone else there, which was our favorite part.
